Peter Adams

Executive Director, RVC

Peter Adams is the Executive Director of the Rockies Venture Club. His role includes creating deal flow of 500+ firms per year, screening for investable companies, developing best practices for due diligence and negotiation, and providing education for angel investors in the areas of valuation, term sheets, negotiation, syndication, and portfolio strategies. Adams has over twenty five years of business experience beginning in the 1980s with a technology company responsible for fulfilling a sole-source contract for all personal computers for the Colorado state government including universities, agencies and related offices. Adams is a serial entrepreneur, having founded five companies and he has also served over a dozen years as Economics Director and as CIO of an international professional services firm. Adams is also the CEO for BizGirls.org, a non-profit summer camp for high-school girls to learn entrepreneurship and Omniportraits, a for-profit e-commerce venture. Adams is a co-author of “Venture Capital for Dummies,” John Wiley & Sons, 2013.

Dave Harris

Operations Director, RVC

Dave Harris is the Director of Operations for Rockies Venture Club (RVC), the longest running angel investor group in the US. Rockies Venture Club a non-profit organization furthering economic development in Colorado by connecting investors and entrepreneurs through conferences (Angel Capital Summit, Colorado Capital Conference, and Cannabis Capital Summit), networking events, educational offerings and facilitation of Colorado’s largest angel investor groups.

Prior to joining RVC, Dave worked as a collaborative start-up consultant specializing in strategy, business development, and project management. He also has 7+ years experience in international finance and content management at Thomson Reuters and Lipper, covering the financial markets for Latin America, Europe, and Canada.

Dave is a graduate of the University of Colorado at Boulder, and he enjoys climbing 14ers, backpacking, fishing, and cooking; often all simultaneously, while still answering RVC emails.

Denichiro Otsuga, Ph.D.,RTTP

Director, Venture Community Development

Denny brings years of experience in managing technology commercialization, intellectual property and research collaboration. President of EnConnect Holdings, his recent activities include leadership positions to design and implement new strategic initiatives and programs.

Prior to EnConnect Denny supported the technology transfer and intellectual property commercialization fields as Vice President of CSU Ventures, Executive Director of the University of Kentucky’s Office of Technology Transfer, and founding Director of the South Dakota State University Technology Transfer Office.

Having led or co-led negotiations of over 150 agreements where financial transaction terms were included, Denny has experience with transactions types consisting of intellectual property license agreements, industry sponsored research agreements, and grants/contracts from government agencies.

He is also a successful research scientist with multiple publications in high impact journals. Denny has a Ph.D. in Plant Developmental Molecular Genetics from the University of Utah.

Ian McConville

Online Programs Manager, RVC

Ian McConville started working with Rockies Venture Club (RVC) in October 2014. He started at RVC as the communications and events manager where he organized the 100 events that RVC hosts every year including: the 300 person Angel Capital Summit, the University Startup Challenge, and a host of other education and pitching events. In addition to organizing these events Ian has managed the communications to RVC’s community of over 5000 entrepreneurs, investors and service providers. He is currently transitioning into the role as the Online Program and Event Developer where he is designing an online platform for entrepreneur and investor engagement and education.

Previously Ian interned in Kathmandu for the Nepal Youth Foundation where he designed a playground for the Nutritional Rehabilitation Home outside of the city. This facility is designed for kids to recover from malnutrition while their caregivers are educated on proper nutritional practices.

Ian graduated Magna Cum Laude from Lehigh University with B.S. in Mechanical Engineering. In his spare time he enjoys hiking the mountains of Colorado and playing Rugby.
